Mainz/Munich, 01.03.2023 – Mainz-based startup Horizon, a B2B SaaS company in the field of consumer insights and decision intelligence, and BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, Europe's number 1 home appliance manufacturer, today announced their partnership. Horizon co-founders Daniel Putsche, Lutz Petrean and their team support BSH, the home of numerous leading global brands, such as Bosch, Siemens, Gaggenau and Neff, in making product decisions that are more consumer-centric.
Despite only recently having started their collaboration, Horizon already has supported multiple product decisions with teams at BSH and BSH Startup Kitchen, the company’s venture client unit. By focusing on its core competency in “pretotyping”, the German tech startup has already helped Europe’s leading appliance manufacturer solving the following challenges on a product level:
- Identify the best accepted value proposition and general market demand for a highly innovative washing machine
- Uncover price uplift opportunities of up to 20% for smart indoor gardening
- Understand market acceptance and price sensitivity of consumers in new business models (i.e. circular economy)
“We are committed to put the consumer at the center of what we do. The software provided by Horizon offers a fresh and impressive take on how to evaluate consumer interest at an early stage by providing real-life consumer feedback that can support strategic product decision making. We look forward to seeing how this software can support us in testing interest in, and willingness to pay, for new offers and iterations on existing products”, said Daniel Baule, Manager Corporate User Experience at BSH.
“Working with BSH and now licensing the Horizon software globally is excellent proof of the need that product and innovation teams nowadays have: a better and more consumer-centric validation of their strategic product decisions. We are beyond excited to be able to support BSH now globally with the appropriate consumer data for all strategic product decisions.”, said Daniel Putsche, Co-Founder and CEO at Horizon.
Horizon was founded in 2021. The current team of 11 works on the SaaS solution from anywhere in the world, in line with the “remote first” approach. The Horizon software makes it possible to use landing page tests to analyze user behavior in response to strategic questions. On this basis, decisions can be made with confidence at an early stage. In September 2022, Horizon bagged USD 1.4 million as part of its pre-seed funding.
